Super Nanny Beans
When I was little, my west Texas grandmother, Nanny, always had a pot of pinto beans either cooking on the stove or the leftovers in a blue pyrex mixing bowl in the fridge. Hot or cold they were delicious. So we call our pinto beans, Nanny beans.
Today I made pinto beans with tomatoes, onions, jalepenos, cilantro and garlic. Nanny only used Gebhardt's Chili Powder, salt and sugar. Ok, I put a pinch of sugar in mine today too.
cooking beans ~ cocinando frijoles
frijoles (pinto beans) made with onion, green pepper, garlic, tomatoes, pepper, chile, sea salt, fresh oregano, thyme, parsley, cumin, cumin seed, cilantro, lime, a little olive oil.
i make a big pot for many days and meals. it's then easy to heat up some beans on the stove, add some tortillas, maybe some rice, a salad... etc.
